Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, thanked the Russian side for assistance in eliminating the consequences of the earthquake.

Rescuers from the Russian Federation helped clear the rubble after a natural disaster. Syria is grateful to the Russian government for supporting the country after a difficult test, Assad said.

Recall, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred in the southeast of Turkey on the morning of February 6. The natural disaster also affected neighboring Syria, where more than 1.3 thousand people became victims of the state of emergency.
