Suspended and banned from serving because of the situation around the Trinity, the head of the expert council on church art, architecture and restoration of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), Archpriest Leonid Kalinin, admitted that he had made a mistake.
The clergyman refused to comment on the decision of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill, noting that he had no doubt that it had been thought out.
“I take it easy [решение о своём отстранении] and I ask for the prayers of all who love and know me. I always try to do my best, maybe I’m wrong. Apparently he made some mistake.” leads his words TASS.
Recall that Leonid Kalinin, the head of the expert council on church art, architecture and restoration of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), the diocesan antiquities keeper of the Moscow diocese and a member of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, was dismissed from his posts and banned from serving because of his obstruction of the transfer of the icon “Trinity” by Andrey Rublev in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
