Arab countries have rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal regarding Gaza occupation. Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty confirmed this during a bilateral meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on Monday. Discussions emphasized need to accelerate Gaza’s reconstruction.

In an interview with U.S. media Trump stated that Palestinians would not be granted the right to return to Gaza. His comments have sparked tensions among Arab nations, leading to strong criticism and protests.
During the Washington meeting Abdelatty made it clear that Arab leaders fully support Palestine and reject Trump’s plan. He stressed the urgency of rebuilding war-torn Gaza and called for international solidarity against ongoing injustices faced by Palestinians.
Trump’s remarks on Gaza continue to draw widespread criticism. He mentioned plans to establish a permanent settlement for displaced Palestinians. But did not provide further details. Analysts believe his proposal has widened the gap between the US and Middle Eastern nations.
Experts told AFP that Trump’s move could hinder efforts to normalize Saudi-Israel relations. In response, an emergency Arab summit scheduled for February 27 in Cairo to discuss regional opposition to Trump’s plan. Many Middle Eastern countries have condemned proposal reaffirming their support for a two-state solution to the Palestinian crisis.
