Germany’s energy industry is waiting for “martial law” in case of refusal of Russian gas. Bloomberg analysts Vanesa Dezem and William Wilks said.

The possibility of a sudden shutdown of Russian gas emerged this week after Moscow cut natural fuel supplies to Berlin, analysts said. In this case, it will affect 80 million people. In addition, many companies from different areas will suffer: from baking bread to the chemical industry.

“Economists predict damage of 220 billion euros, which is more than enough to send the country into recession,” the article says.

The head of the Industrial Union of Germany (BDI), Siegfried Ruswurm, said earlier that the cessation of Russian gas supplies to Germany would have disastrous consequences for the country.
