Deputy Defense Minister Pankov announced an increase in the number of people wishing to become volunteers
The number of Russians wishing to join volunteer detachments to defend the country has grown significantly. This was pointed out by Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov at a meeting on the recruitment of the Armed Forces with contract servicemen, the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
He noted that today there are 40 volunteer formations in Russia, and the number of people wishing to join their ranks is growing.
“In addition to the entry of citizens into contract service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, we have seen a significant increase in citizens who want to defend the Fatherland in volunteer formations,” Pankov said.
The representative of the Ministry of Defense stressed that the volunteers are successfully coping with the assigned tasks on the line of contact in the special operation zone.
He added that before July 1, members of the volunteer detachments will sign contracts to regulate their legal status. On Saturday, June 10, Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu signed the order on the order of formations of the service of volunteer units in the zone of the special military operation.
As reported Radio Sputnikcontracts will allow volunteers and their families to receive all measures of social support and protection for military personnel.
