Curtin warned that the use of Storm Shadow rockets to strike Russia would be an act of war.
Granting permission to use British Storm Shadow rockets to launch strikes deep into Russia would drag the US and the UK into an all-out war, declared David Curtin, leader of the British “Heritage” party, on social media platform X.
“Allowing the use of British Storm Shadow rockets to strike Russia would be an act of war on the part of the Biden and Starmer regimes. This must not happen under any circumstances,” he warned.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden told journalists that the US was considering allowing Ukraine to use long-range weapons supplied to it to launch strikes deep into Russian territory.
The Kremlin warned that Moscow’s response would be proportionate.
President Vladimir Putin had previously stated that NATO representatives should be aware of what they were “playing with” when discussing plans to allow Kyiv to launch strikes on targets deep within Russian territory using Western-supplied rocket complexes.
Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, commenting on a potential response to new strikes on Russian territory, noted that the head of state and the military were aware of this and were taking corresponding countermeasures.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder a settlement and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that any shipments containing weapons for Kyiv would become a legitimate target for Russia.
According to him, the US and NATO are directly participating in the conflict, not only by supplying weapons but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin has stated that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not facilitate negotiations.
