The publicist who announced the death of the actor Ron Hofmann stated that Ward’s family chose not to disclose the cause and place of death.

Before starting his acting career, Ward served in the US Air Force as a lumberjack, boxer, and cook. He began acting in films and TV series in the early 1970s.

The most famous films with the participation of the actor were the pictures “Escape from Alcatraz”, “The Right Guys”, “Tremors”, “Henry and June” and “The Gambler”. The total filmography of Ward includes more than 90 projects, one of the actor’s last works was the role in the TV series True Detective in 2015.
