Allahabad University: Admission to PhD after four years of graduation

Preparations have intensified to implement the new education policy in Allahabad University. Under this, students pursuing four-year graduation will be able to take admission in PhD directly by taking an entrance exam. Vice Chancellor Prof. On Thursday, a meeting was held in online mode with all the Deans and Heads of Departments under the chairmanship of Sangeeta Srivastava. In this meeting, which lasted for about two hours, serious discussions were held on various issues and it was agreed to prepare an action plan for the future.

New education policy is to be implemented in the country from the year 2023. Various points related to the preparation of curriculum in the new education policy were discussed in detail. The Vice Chancellor directed every head of the department to prepare the syllabus of their respective subject in the next 15 days according to the new education policy. A meeting will be held again on this subject on June 25.

The meeting discussed the implementation of a four-year undergraduate course. The Vice Chancellor emphasized that the education of many students stops after graduation and they are unable to do research. After the implementation of the new education policy, any student after the four-year undergraduate course can take admission in PhD directly after seeing the entrance examination.

Dr. Chittaranjan Kumar (Assistant PRO, IVV) said, several issues were decided in the meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sangeeta Srivastava. The Vice Chancellor has emphasized on employable new courses. The four year undergraduate course was also discussed in detail. The Vice Chancellor is serious about the new education policy.

Committee constituted to make NCC optional subject

The new education policy states that all graduate level students (NNC) like BA, BCom, BAC can take National Cadet Corps as an optional subject. From 2023 onwards, they can keep NCC as an optional subject like graduate level students choose other optional subjects. In this regard, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of PK Ghosh. This committee will decide how to implement NCC in the curriculum.
