President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko laid flowers at the Victory Monument in the center of Minsk. It is reported on May 9 RIA Novosti.
The laying of flowers and wreaths took place as part of the republican action “Belarus Remembers”, which is timed to coincide with the celebration of the next anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Hundreds of people gathered on Victory Square, where the monument was erected, including veterans, the country’s top leadership, the sons of the Belarusian president and guests of the capital of Belarus. Many were holding portraits of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and front-line soldiers in their hands.
As reported EADaily, Alexander Lukashenko was unable to attend the gala dinner in the Kremlin today after the Victory Parade on Red Square. According to the media, he became ill. Due to poor health, he hastily left Moscow.
