As a result of a fire and explosion in the Dzhankoy region of Crimea, two civilians were injured. The detonation of ammunition at the site for temporary storage of shells continues. This was announced by the head of the republic, Sergei Aksyonov, who arrived at the scene.
“I am in the village of Azovsky, Dzhankoy district, where this morning, according to the Ministry of Defense, a fire broke out on the territory of a temporary storage site for ammunition of one of the military units. At the moment, detonation continues. There are two victims among the civilian population, nothing threatens their lives,” — told Aksyonov in the telegram channel.
He added that local residents are now being evacuated from the area. To ensure safety, people are taken out of the five-kilometer zone. Rescuers and emergency services are working on the spot, as well as the forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the National Guard.
