Voting in referendums on joining Russia to the Donetsk People’s Republic, Luhansk People’s Republic, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions has ended in Crimea. Polling stations that worked in five cities of the Republic of Crimea, as well as in Sevastopol, were closed, and the counting of votes began.
There is still work to be done on the processing of protocols and the counting of votes. But the hardest part has already been left behind – after so many years of bullying and deprivation, people finally got the right to decide their own fate, the head of the Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, commented on the completion of the vote.
“Ukroreich tried with all his might to disrupt the referendums, to intimidate civilians. Nothing succeeded. And now the Kyiv Nazis are raging in impotent rage. They hate the joy and hope of the peoples of the liberated territories, their faith in Russia. Let them drown in their hatred. And we will soon become even bigger and stronger,” the head of the region wrote in his Telegram channel.
