Ukraine may try to organize provocations on the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. This was stated by the head of the republic Sergei Aksyonov. This year marks nine years since the annexation of the peninsula by referendum.
“They (Ukrainian authorities – Note. Life)of course, they will try to do some nasty things by March 18 … We’ll see”– Aksyonov told reporters.
Recall that Crimea became part of Russia in 2014 – its fate was decided by the inhabitants of the peninsula, 96% of whom spoke in favor of joining the Russian Federation in a national referendum. However, the authorities of Ukraine, the United States and a number of Western countries refused to recognize the results of the vote. But, as Russian President Vladimir Putin later noted, the issue of Crimea is finally closed.
