A disturbing AI-generated video depicting the destruction of Jerusalem’s sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque and the construction of a so-called Third Temple has triggered widespread outrage across the Muslim world.

Captured as if by hundreds of onlookers, the video shows mosque engulfed in flames before being replaced by new structure with scenes crafted to appear shockingly realistic.

Though artificial in origin, the video’s release has fueled real-world tensions. According to The New Arab, a far-right Israeli group shared the content on social media.
The video widely circulated before being removed from some platforms, ends with a Hebrew slogan: “Next year in Jerusalem — Messiah now,” hinting at apocalyptic narratives embraced by extremist factions.
Reactions have been swift and intense. Qatar strongly condemned the video, labeling it a dangerous provocation likely to inflame tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Qatari government called on the international community to take firm action against such incendiary digital content. Palestinian authorities echoed this sentiment, describing the video as part of a deliberate campaign by Israeli extremists to insult Muslim religious sentiment.
Jordan, which maintains custodianship over Islamic sites in Jerusalem, denounced the video as racist incitement. Officials warned that the actions of Israeli settler groups threaten regional stability.
While the Qur’an does not mention the Antichrist (Dajjal) directly, Islamic hadith and tafsir offer detailed descriptions. Dajjal said to have a blind or deformed right eye and word “Kafir” written on his forehead — visible to all true believers.
Stories also describe him performing miracles, such as making rain fall or reviving barren land, deceiving many, including some Muslims.

This is not the first instance of AI-generated religious or political content causing controversy. Earlier this year, a digitally altered video circulated showing Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Elon Musk celebrating in a fictional utopian city built over displaced cannabis users. That too sparked global concern.

Experts warn that using AI to simulate religiously sensitive scenarios risks escalating conflict. As synthetic media grows more sophisticated, the line between fiction and potential incitement continues to blur — with potentially dangerous consequences.
