About 14,000 people from 131 countries took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) this year. On the sidelines of the forum, 691 agreements worth 5.6 trillion rubles were signed, Presidential Advisor Anton Kobyakov said. According to him, following the results of the SPIEF, the amount of signed agreements “will definitely be higher.” In a comment by Mr. Kobyakov in Telegram it is said that SPIEF “showed its independence and credibility.”
In 2021, agreements worth almost RUB 4 trillion were signed at SPIEF. In 2022, the forum was held from 15 to 18 June. Yesterday, June 17, President Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session of the forum. His speech was postponed for an hour due to cyber attacks on the system of accreditation of forum participants. The President at SPIEF suggested, in particular, to reduce the rate on preferential mortgages to 7% per annum, abandon business inspections, and launch industrial mortgages.
