After a fight between fans at the match “Fenerbahce” – “Zenith” no one was detained

The police did not detain fans of “Fenerbahce” and “Zenith”, who staged a skirmish during a friendly match. This was reported in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul.

According to the information provided by law enforcement officers, measures were taken to resolve the situation and ensure the further smooth running of the match.

“Employees limited themselves to preventive conversations with active participants in conflict situations, after which they were released. According to available data, there were no detainees,” told “Sport Express” at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation.

Recall that the incident occurred during a charity match between Fenerbahce and Zenit in Istanbul. It all happened at the moment when the stadium security service escorted the Russian fans to a separate podium. However, they passed by the home sector of the Turkish club, which eventually led to an outbreak of aggression between the fans. The police had to intervene in the conflict.
