Activists from the Russian Veterans movement sent a letter to the Russian Presidential Administration demanding a ban on medals from the Ministry of Sports, which are dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Olympics in Sochi. They claim that the medals are similar to the flag of Ukraine, Russian media write.

“Veterans of Russia saw yellow and blue on their medals. And they were so indignant that they have already sent an appeal to the Administration and personally to the Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin with a request to arrange an inspection,” reports the Mash telegram channel. The main complaint of activists is the golden metal and blue last, which resemble the flag of Ukraine.

Prior to this, the Ministry of Sports decided to establish a commemorative medal in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Games in Sochi, which took place in February 2014. This decree was signed by Matytsin.
