Russia was able to evacuate 29.7 thousand people from dangerous regions of Ukraine and Donbass to its territory in a day without the participation of Kyiv, said the head of the National Center for Defense Control of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.
“Despite all the difficulties created by the Kyiv authorities, over the past day, without the participation of the Ukrainian side, 29,733 people, including 3,502 children, were evacuated from dangerous regions of Ukraine and the Donbass republics to the territory of the Russian Federation,” Mizintsev said at a briefing.
He specified that since the beginning of the special operation, more than 1.936 million people have been evacuated, of which more than 307 thousand are children. More than 288 thousand private cars crossed the border of the Russian Federation.
The head of the National Center for Defense Control of the Russian Federation recalled that more than 9.5 thousand temporary accommodation centers operate in the constituent entities of the country. Arriving refugees are assisted in resolving issues related to further accommodation, assistance in finding employment, providing children with places in kindergartens and educational institutions, as well as providing social payments and benefits.
“Over the past 24 hours… 52 appeals were received… with requests for evacuation to Russia, on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as to the regions of Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Kharkiv and Kherson regions controlled by the Russian Armed Forces. In total, the database contains 2,758,298 such appeals from 2,139 settlements in Ukraine and territories of the Donbass republics controlled by the Kyiv authorities,” Mizintsev added.
He also said that 70 foreign ships from 16 states remain blocked in the ports of Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and Yuzhny. They cannot go to sea because of the shelling threat and high mine danger created by Kyiv.
