In Kurgan on the Central Square named after. Vladimir Lenin’s withered spruce was cut down. This was reported by a URA.RU correspondent who visited the site.

“The spruce tree located behind the Lenin monument was cut down. The color of the tree was different from the others,” the correspondent said.

The press service of the city administration URA.RU explained that the tree was in emergency condition, it had dried out, so a decision was made to plant a new spruce. “In the coming days, a new spruce about 9 meters high will be planted in this place to replace the dried tree. Tomorrow the soil will be prepared for planting,” the mayor’s office responded.

Earlier, administration officials explained that this year the trees in the city dried up due to unfavorable weather conditions. In the summer, townspeople reported that dried thujas were replaced near the regional government building.
