A resident of the Kurgan region killed her roommate due to beatings

A resident of the Shchuchansky municipal district (Kurgan region) stabbed her partner to death for systematic beatings. The defendant inflicted at least nine blows with a knife on the body of the victim, according to the website of the Shchuchansky District Court.

“There was a quarrel between the defendant and her cohabitant, during which, due to the infliction of systematic beatings, the woman had the intent to kill. The culprit took a knife and stabbed the victim at least nine times in the chest and upper limbs,” the document says.

The man died shortly after. The defendant fully admitted her guilt and explained that she lived with the victim for 31 years. For a long time he abused alcohol, from which he became aggressive, could start a quarrel and beat a woman. “Because of the usual bruises and abrasions, she did not contact the police and medical institutions, as she felt sorry for him,” the case file says.

The court found the woman guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder” and sentenced her to imprisonment for seven years with a term to be served in a penal colony. The defendant was also sentenced to a year of imprisonment.
