A resident of Buryatia set fire to his house and asked to call firefighters


In the Ivolginsky district of Buryatia, a man set fire to his own house. As the correspondent was told IA REGNUM in the press service of the Republican Agency for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, a fire broke out on the evening of June 13 in the village of Nur-Settlement.

By the time firefighters arrived, the private house and the prostroy were completely engulfed in flames. It took firefighters about an hour to put out the fire. As a result, the buildings burned out inside.

As it turned out later, the cause of the fire was arson. The source of the fire was located in the kitchen attached to the house, a canister was found nearby, and a characteristic smell of gasoline was felt at the scene.

“According to the owner of the house, her partner repeatedly threatened to set fire to, and on the day of the incident he called and asked to call firefighters, while saying that he had set fire to the house”— noted in the department.
