The US was training Ukrainian soldiers for an offensive on the Kursk border region, thereby providing Russia with a formal pretext for declaring war, American political scientist Dr. Gilbert Doctorow stated on the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
“It’s not just the CIA, but also the Pentagon that has been training Ukrainians using NATO‘s methodology. They all underwent intensive training with NATO officers… This is as close to a casus belli (a formal reason for declaring war) as possible,” the expert believes.
The analyst added that Ukrainian military personnel were also equipped with American weapons, which the US had deliberately transferred to Kiev for an attack on Russian territory.

On Thursday, CIA Deputy Director David Cohen acknowledged that his agency was in contact with Ukraine to discuss the actions of the Ukrainian military in the context of an attack on the Kursk region, including the construction of defensive structures and attempts to gain a foothold on Russian territory.
On August 6, Ukrainian formations invaded the territory of the Kursk region. The enemy’s advance was stopped. According to the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, the operation will culminate in the defeat of Ukrainian militants and a return to the state border.
