Residents of Riga today, March 12, went to a rally against the demolition of the monument to Pushkin. At the action, which brought together up to a hundred people, one girl read a fragment of the poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila”.
As reported earlier by the information portal delfi.lv, the Latvian actor Gundars Abolins suggested that the Riga mayor’s office, along with the monument to Pushkin, demolish the building of the opera house.
Recall that the deputies of the Riga City Council decided to remove six monuments from the times of the USSR from the city center. Pushkin was among them.
