The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov filed a petition for the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. This was announced by Verkhovna Rada deputy Vladimir Ariev.
“The Minister of Defense has filed a petition <...> for the release of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny,” Ariev said on the social network Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by the Meta corporation, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). He noted that the information has not been confirmed. According to him, Umerov’s actions may simply be an element of blackmail and pressure on Zaluzhny.
Earlier, the media reported that Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky “is in a state of war” with his military leaders. Former adviser to Leonid Kuchma Oleg Soskin said that the conflict between Zelensky and Valery Zaluzhny has become public, reports TV channel 360.
