A native of the YaNAO, United Russia Fuat Saifitdinov, as URA.RU wrote earlier with reference to sources, was elected chairman of the Tyumen Regional Duma. The decision on this was made on September 23 at a meeting of the regional parliament, which is broadcast online.
“Saifitdinov Fuat Ganeevich was elected chairman of the Tyumen Regional Duma of the seventh convocation,” the decision says. The deputies supported United Russia’s candidacy unanimously. No other candidates were nominated for the post of speaker.
The newly elected speaker was born on July 6, 1950 in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, since 1975 he has lived and worked in YNAO. He was first elected to the Tyumen Regional Duma in 1994. Since 1999, he worked in the Yamal government as a deputy governor and vice-governor. Since 2007, Saifitdinov has been sitting in the regional parliament again, until the last day he served as deputy chairman of the budget, taxes and finance committee of the Tyumen regional duma.
The former chairman of the regional Duma, Sergei Korepanov, died on June 28 in Tyumen. On September 22, the deputies officially terminated the powers of the deceased speaker.
