A jury at a meeting of the Voronezh Regional Court found Viktor Mirsky guilty of a triple murder and an attack on a police station in the city of Liski in 2021. The jury found him guilty on all charges and not deserving of leniency. This was reported TASS representative of the prosecutor’s office in the Voronezh region.
The Voronezh Regional Court began considering the case on 10 January. According to investigators, in September 2021, as a result of a quarrel, Viktor Mirsky killed a family of three, including a child, and then arrived at the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Liskinsky district. He blew up the front door, according to the case file, shot twice at police officers, two of them were injured. He tried to leave, but was detained.
The state prosecution argued that the motive for the murder of a woman, her 19-year-old son and six-year-old grandson was the slaughter of a cow, which they purchased from the accused. At one of the meetings, he himself admitted his guilt and stated that he regretted the murder of the child, but the “vile behavior of these people” inspired him to commit the crime. Explaining the attack on the police, he said it was “a challenge to the system.”
Viktor Mirsky was charged under paragraphs “a”, “c”, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two or more persons, including a minor), art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer), part 1 of Art. 223.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal manufacture of explosive devices), part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal storage, transportation or carrying of explosive devices), part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional destruction or damage to another’s property by explosion or in any other generally dangerous way).
