A foreigner who financed IS was detained in the Amur region – Kommersant

In the Amur Region, security forces detained a foreigner who was financing a terrorist organization, according to a report from the FSB Directorate for the region. According to the department, the foreign citizen lived in the region, and his criminal activities were identified by security officers during operational search activities.

As Kommersant learned, we are talking about the organization “Islamic State” (IS, banned in Russia). The investigative department of the FSB Directorate for the Amur Region opened a criminal case regarding the financing of a terrorist organization (Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Under this article, the accused faces a sentence of eight to fifteen years. The court, at the request of the investigation, made a decision to arrest.
