The working group on the special military operation submitted to the State Duma a bill on credit holidays for all co-borrowers of a special operation participant, including parents and adoptive parents of a soldier. Document published on site State Duma.
“Until now, this benefit (credit holidays.— “b”) could only use the spouse, children and dependents (of a participant in a military operation.— “b”). Now, all co-borrowers, including parents and adoptive parents,” he clarified in Telegram channel Andrey Turchak, head of the working group and Secretary of the United Russia General Council.
The bill proposes to terminate the loan obligations of all co-borrowers of military personnel (including volunteers and mobilized) who died or received severe disability during a military operation. “The current law is drafted in such a way that if there are co-borrowers-parents (adoptive parents), the debt is not written off in full, but falls on their shoulders,” said Mr. Turchak.
He noted that the bill was included in the second report of the working group, sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin last week following the results of the visiting meeting in the Krasnodar Territory.
Participants of the military operation, mobilized and volunteers received the right to credit holidays or write-off of consumer and mortgage loans from October 7, 2022. According to current legislation, credit holidays also apply to spouses and children of military personnel. As of February 1, Russian banks issued credit holidays to participants in the operation and their families for 67.5 billion rubles.
Due to the lack of information about the status of a soldier, banks are not always able to provide them with benefits. The Association of Russian Banks on February 2 published a letter to the Federal Tax Service “On confirmation of information about military personnel.” ARB has already sent a number of letters on similar problems to the Federal Tax Service, the Ministry of Defense and the Central Bank.
