At the Bugristoye border checkpoint, 6.7 tons of unsafe lamb from the Republic of Kazakhstan were not allowed into the Chelyabinsk region. The reason for the return of meat was the lack of documents, the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions told URA.RU.

“At the Bugristoye checkpoint, on November 30, 6,725 kilograms of frozen lamb were returned from Kazakhstan. The reason for the return is the lack of accompanying documents and a veterinary certificate,” the supervisory agency told URA.RU.

In addition to document violations, the reason was also time restrictions. Since January 2022, the import of raw meat into Russia from Kazakhstan is prohibited due to the foot-and-mouth disease virus. The car was returned to the republic under supervision.
