44% of US adults said they would definitely or most likely vote for Trump, while 38% would vote for Biden. 12% of respondents stated that they have not yet decided on their choice.
At the same time, the poll shows that Biden’s support level has fallen again – to 36%, while in February it was 42%.
Very interesting assessments were given by the survey participants to the mental abilities of Biden and Trump. Only 32% believe that Biden has the necessary mental acuity to work effectively as president – 3 years ago during the election, 51% thought so. As for Trump, 54% rated his mental abilities as suitable for the job of president.
33% of those polled said that Biden, who is 80 years old, is in good physical health to serve as president. 64% believe that Trump, who is 76 years old, is in good physical health to work as president.
At the same time, according to the poll, 58% of the supporters of the Democratic Party said they see someone other than Biden as a presidential candidate.
The poll commissioned by the Washington Post – ABC was conducted from April 28 to May 3, 2023. In the survey, sociologists from Abt Associates of Rockville interviewed 1,006 American adults, the margin of error was 3.5%.
