NL Times: The number of bankrupt companies in the Netherlands has more than doubled

PARIS, 10 Apr – The number of bankrupt companies in the Netherlands has more than doubled in the first quarter of 2023, according to the portal NL Times.
According to the website for tracking bankruptcy trends in the Netherlands Faillissements Dossier, to which the portal refers, among the enterprises that went bankrupt in the Netherlands were mainly cafes, restaurants, retail stores and online stores.
Thus, from January to March, 781 companies went bankrupt, while in the first three months of last year this number was 506. This represents an increase of 54.3%. The number of cafes and restaurants that went bankrupt in the first quarter of this year almost tripled to 54.
Earlier it was reported that in September 2022, the largest number of companies closed in the Netherlands in the last two years. The reason for the closure of enterprises was the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, as well as financial problems caused by high inflation.
