MOSCOW, Nov 9 – It is important that Russia and the Holy See join forces in the fight against terrorism and are capable of doing a lot to develop cooperation, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“It is important that Russia and the Holy See join forces in overcoming global challenges, countering terrorism, extremism, protecting the Christian population in the conflict zone,” he said during a meeting with the Holy See Secretary for Relations with States, Archbishop P. Gallagher.
“Through joint efforts, we can do a lot to solve moral problems, to establish humanistic principles in international relations, and to develop interreligious dialogue,” Mishustin added.
He especially noted the attentive and respectful attitude on the part of Pope Francis to Russian positions on international problems.
“We look forward to further fruitful cooperation with the Vatican in multilateral formats, primarily in the UN, in the OSCE, in the Council of Europe,” Mishustin added.
He also named cultural and humanitarian interaction as an important area of ​​cooperation.
