Pakistan, which is engaged in helping Taliban with body, mind and money in Afghanistan, has made it clear that it will continue to do so and for this it is acceptable to mess with the world. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said on Thursday that Pakistan will continue to help Afghanistan without coming under pressure from the world. “They are our brothers and they are our neighbours,” Rashid said at a press conference in Lahore.
Since the Taliban’s capture of Kabul in August, Pakistan has been advocating for the recognition of the new Nizam of Afghanistan. First, Pakistan not only gave weapons to the Taliban but also helped in capturing Afghanistan by sending its troops where needed. Now he is trying to strengthen the hands of the Taliban by pleading for humanitarian aid.
Despite human rights abuses coming to light one after the other and brutality on women, Pakistan continues to help the Taliban. While the world is busy pressurizing the Taliban to respect human rights, Imran Khan does not tire of praising the radical Islamic group. In such a situation, now the demand for sanctions on Pakistan has also started rising.
This statement of the Union Home Minister has come at a time when the American delegation led by Deputy Secretary Wendy Sherman has reached America. Pakistan’s newspaper Dawn quoted sources as saying that the US does not want Pakistan to recognize the Taliban before the decision of the international community. The US wants Pakistan to put pressure on the Taliban on issues such as inclusive government, human rights and women’s rights.
