In the limited overs format, Team India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly in the Test series on the tour of England recently. Rohit, who is counted among the best batsmen in the world in limited over format, has made his special place in Test cricket as an opener in the last few years. A five-match test series was to be played between India and England, after four test matches, the team India was 2–1 ahead in the series, the fifth test could not be played. Before the last Test to be played in Manchester, it had to be postponed after Team India’s junior physio was found positive in the Kovid-19 test. Rohit said that the coming time will tell whether the fifth match of the Test series will be played or not? But according to him, Team India has won the series 2-1.
Rohit said in an adidas-like press conference, ‘I don’t know what happened with the last test match, have we won the test series or will we play one more test match next year? But in my view, we have won the series 2-1. I would like to see this series like this. Rohit scored the most runs for India in this series, which also included an innings of 127 runs played at The Oval ground. India took a 2-1 lead in the series after winning The Oval Test. Rohit was adjudged man of the match.
Rohit said, “This series has been very good according to my performance in Test cricket so far, but I would like to say that it is not my best in Test right now. Personally, this tour has been very good for me. I worked hard for this tour from 15-20 days before the final of the Test Championship. Rohit scored 368 runs in four Test matches at an average of 52.57.
