The uproar in Lakhimpur Kheri today has exposed the preparations for the police-administration in Uttar Pradesh. For the last two-three days, reports of preparations for farmers’ protest were coming on social media along with the schedule of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya for laying the foundation stone of several government schemes. Despite this, the administration could not understand the gravity of the matter. No arrangement was made to stop or keep the farmers under control. Even after the ruckus, not enough force and PAC could come, which could control the situation.
On Sunday, the program of Keshav Prasad Maurya was fixed for laying the foundation stone of many government schemes. Lakhimpur Kheri MP and Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni was also to participate in this. Apart from this, Keshav Prasad Maurya was to reach a riot competition and party worker’s conference in Banvirpur, native village of Ajay Mishra Teni, as the chief guest.
After getting information about the program of the Deputy Chief Minister, the protesting farmers had made preparations for the last two-three days to protest and show them black flags. From Sunday morning, farmers started gathering around the helipad built at Maharaja Agrasen Inter College of Tikuniya. By 9 o’clock thousands of farmers had reached there with black flags and surrounded the entire area. Administrative officers tried hard to convince the farmers, but no one removed from the helipad.
It is said that farmers from places like Majhgai, Palia, Sampurnanagar, Khajuria, Mailani, Puranpur and Pilibhit etc., including this area, had come to join them by trains. After 11 o’clock, the welcome banners and hoardings put up there started breaking and tearing. Despite this, in view of the huge number of farmers, the police of many places deployed there and three PAC troopers deployed from here to Banveerpur were silent after falling into a dilemma. Seeing the condition, the party leaders and workers who reached the reception also left from there.
After this news came that the Deputy CM’s program to come by helicopter has been canceled and he will come to Banveerpur by car. They are expected to reach Tikuniya by three to four o’clock. The Deputy Chief Minister reached Lakhimpur by road and laid the foundation stone of several government schemes at a guest house at around 12 o’clock. After this, he left for Tikunia by road with the Union Minister of State for Home.
After the information of the ruckus, the Deputy Chief Minister returned
Both had not even reached Tikunia yet when the information of the ruckus came. After this the Deputy Chief Minister had to go back. He canceled the program. BJP MLA Lokendra Pratap Singh, who was present with the convoy of the Deputy CM, said that as soon as we reached the Tikunia area, the information about the accident had come. After the information of such a serious incident, Deputy CM Keshav Maurya canceled all the programs and went back to Lucknow leaving condolences. He was sent back to Lucknow by road with heavy security.
Farmers were angry against the Union Minister for several days
Farmers’ anger did not arise suddenly on Sunday, farmers were angry with Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni. Recently, farmers in Palia area had shown them black flags. The incident happened when Ajay Mishra Teni was going to an event in his own home area. Defying police protection, the farmers came on the road and showed them black flags. The BJP leaders and the Union Minister himself denounced this attitude of the farmers.
Driver and three BJP workers died
It is said that after this demonstration, the farmers of United Kisan Morcha were angry with the statements of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni. However, no one knew that resentment and resentment was of this level. Ajay Mishra has said that in the car in which my son is being said to be, he was not present in that vehicle. My son is being falsely accused.
He said that the chaotic elements pelted stones and pelted sticks on the workers traveling in the vehicles going to receive the Deputy CM. The vehicles overturned and set them on fire. My driver was beaten to death. Four people have died in this incident including three of our workers and the driver.
