China’s provocative behavior disturbed peace along LAC in Ladakh: MEA

India has once again targeted China, accusing it of lying about the standoff on the LAC. India said that due to China’s provocative behaviour, trying to unilaterally change the status quo, there has been a breach of peace in the areas along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. India said that China is continuously deploying troops and military equipment in the border areas. In response to this, the Indian Armed Forces have had to make appropriate counter-deployments along the LAC.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that we hope that the Chinese side will work towards an early resolution of the remaining issues along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. It will also fully comply with bilateral agreements and protocols. China has recently alleged that the root cause of tensions between the two countries is New Delhi’s follow-up policy and illegal encroachment on Chinese territory.

India’s response has come in response to this. Bagchi said India had made its position clear a few days back. He also rejected such statements, which have no basis. Bagchi said that peace along the LAC in eastern Ladakh was affected as a result of the Chinese side’s mobilization of a large number of troops and a unilateral attempt to change the status quo.

Bagchi said that China continues to deploy a large number of troops and weapons in the border areas. It was in response to Chinese actions that our armed forces had to make appropriate counter-deployments in these areas. To ensure that India’s security interests are fully protected. He also referred to the message given by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to the Chinese counterpart at a meeting in Dushanbe earlier this month.

Bagchi pointed out that Jaishankar, in his meeting with the Chinese foreign minister earlier this month, had stressed that the Chinese side would work towards an early resolution of the remaining issues along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. It will also fully comply with bilateral agreements and protocols.
