BJP’s big plan in Uttar Pradesh, party may hold 200 ‘caste based’ rallies before elections

The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are due early next year. In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP had won 325 out of the total 403 assembly seats. SP had won 54 seats, BSP 19.

BJP does not want to leave any stone unturned to regain power in Uttar Pradesh. At present, the eyes of the think tank are on OBC voters. This is the reason why CM Yogi has given place to 29 leaders belonging to SC, OBC sections in his cabinet, but the party will go a step ahead and try hard to woo this community. For this, 200 rallies have been planned in the state.

UP has a population of over 50 per cent OBC voters, including Yadavs and other OBC castes. This OBC community is one of the most influential communities in the state. Though the Bharatiya Janata Party had got the support of this OBC community in the previous elections, the BJP wants to ensure that the OBC community continues to support the BJP in the 2022 assembly elections as well. BJP’s focus on this community is also because Mayawati is trying to break into Brahmin voters.

Several leaders of OBC communities were included in the recent expansion of the cabinet of PM Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath. Leaders from the non-Yadav community, Kurmis like Anupriya Patel and Pankaj Choudhary were also included in the centre. At the same time, Yogi has also taken care that the displeasure of the people of the community can be removed by giving them more representation in the government. The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are due early next year. In the 2017 assembly elections, the BJP had won 325 out of the total 403 assembly seats. SP had won 54 seats, BSP 19.

Sources say that the beginning of holding 200 rallies will be in Navratri. This will continue till November. Special care will be taken in these that rallies should be addressed by the leaders associated with them to woo a particular caste. If needed, leaders from the Center will also be brought in rallies. There are 403 assembly seats in UP. That is, a rally will be held for every two assembly seats. In the rallies, emphasis is being given to woo a particular caste. Meaning, the seafarers are spread from Prayag Raj to Banaras. A rally for them will be organized either in Prayagraj or in Banaras.

On the same lines, there are plans to organize rallies for several OBG castes like Saini, Prajapati, Rajbhar and Kurmi. CM Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CN Keshav Prasad Maurya, party president Swatantra Dev Singh, besides UP in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan will also address these rallies. The purpose of the rallies will be OBC voters as well as such leaders of the sections who have nothing to do with any particular party.
