Cases of drug resistant malaria have come to the fore in Africa, the most effective medicine is also ineffective

Malaria is spread through the bite of mosquitoes. More than 4 lakh people die every year due to malaria. Children below 5 years of age and pregnant women are most at risk. According to the World Malaria Report 2020, 90 percent of malaria deaths occurred in Africa, in which more than 2,65,000 were children. There were 7,36,000 cases of malaria in 2000 which decreased to 4,11,000 by 2018. In 2019, 4,09,000 cases of malaria were reported.
