Ministry of Natural Resources: crude oil reserves in Russia decreased by a third over the past ten years
Crude oil reserves in Russia in the period from 2010 to 2020 fell by almost a third, gas – by 27 percent, while the amount of coal in storage during this time remained practically unchanged, according to the draft report of the Ministry of Natural Resources on the state and protection of the environment for 2020 year.
In the first half of the decade, oil reserves varied in the range of about 30 billion tons, then – already about 20 billion. At the same time, compared to 2019, volumes increased by 2.1 percent.
The amount of gas was also kept at 70 trillion cubic meters until 2015, and from the next year it dropped to about 50 trillion and in 2020 amounted to 49.2 trillion. This is 0.2 percent more than in 2019 and 27.4 percent less than in 2010.
Finally, coal reserves for the specified period were at the turn of 275 billion tons – exactly this was the figure for last year. At the same time, noticeable dynamics were recorded in 2019: first, a sharp increase to 375.5 billion, then a decline of 26.8 percent. In relation to 2010, the growth was seven tenths of a percent.
