19% of Georgians support Mechta, 14% support Nationals – IRI poll

If the parliamentary elections in Georgia were held this Saturday, 19% of respondents would vote for the ruling Georgian Dream party. Such results of the public opinion poll were published on April 25 by the Georgian office of the International Republican Institute (IRI).

Mechta’s rating is down 6% from a similar poll last November.

For the former ruling party “United National Movement” would vote 14% of respondents (+2%).

The two largest parties, Georgian Dream and National Movement, also have the highest negative ratings: 34% and 39%.

3% support for the parties “Girchi – more freedom” Zuraba Japaridze and “For Georgia” ex-premier Giorgi Gakharia.

“Strategy Agmashenebeli”, “Lelo”, “For the people” (Anna Dolidze), “Citizens – Elisashvili”, “Labor Party” gained about 2% of support.

“Alt-Info”, which is called pro-Russian, was supported by 1% of respondents. The same number would vote for “European Georgia” Gigi Boqueria“Droa” Elene Khoshtaria and a new movement, Power of the People.

20% do not know who to vote for, 5% will not vote at all.

42% stated that none of the parties served their interests.

The survey was conducted on March 4-23, 1,500 respondents were interviewed, the margin of error was 2.5%.
