16 members of the international criminal community will be judged in Chelyabinsk

In Chelyabinsk, 16 members of the international criminal community will face trial for illegal trafficking in large consignments of drugs. This was reported to URA.RU in the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.

“The prosecutor’s office of Chelyabinsk approved the indictment in a criminal case against 16 members of the criminal community, 9 of whom are foreign citizens. According to the investigation, from January 2020 to December 2022, the defendants, acting under the leadership of an unidentified organizer of an international criminal group, carried out the illegal sale of drugs throughout the country,” the agency’s press service said.

The prosecutor’s office notes that the organized crime group operated on the territory of the Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, Moscow, Samara regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Primorsky Territory. Its members performed the roles of “storekeepers”, “couriers” and “mortgagers”.

Law enforcement officers seized more than 40 kilograms of heroin from the group. In addition, in September 2022, two members of the organized crime group moved more than 1.9 kg of hashish across the Russian border, hiding it in a hiding place in the gas tank of a car.
