With the unlocking, the youths have been tied to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). The commission had canceled five important examinations of April, May and June due to the increasing infection of Corona. There were a total of 2777 posts in these five recruitments and 13 lakh candidates had applied. The commission is also under pressure to speed up the selection process after almost three months of work being affected. According to the standards set by former President Dr. Prabhat Kumar by giving 22870 selections in 21 months, the new President Sanjay Shrinet will have to work hard to fulfill the expectations of the youth.
According to commission sources, preparations have been expedited to conduct the examinations on time by releasing the revised calendar. Apart from thousands of direct recruitment posts, conducting 13 major examinations in six months is no less than a challenge.
6.91 lakh applicants for 538 posts of PCS
The maximum number of 6,91,173 candidates had applied for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) and Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) / Regional Forest Officer (RFO) Preliminary Examination 2021. This examination was to be held on June 13 for 538 posts, including 52 of SDM, but had to be postponed due to corona infection. The candidates are waiting for the new date so that they can start the preparation accordingly.
Five lakh applications for 1473 posts of spokesperson
The proposed examination on June 20 for recruitment to 1473 posts of spokesperson in state schools was also postponed. Five lakh candidates have applied for 991 posts of 15 subjects in men’s branch and 482 posts of 16 subjects in women’s branch. For the first time, the selection of spokesperson will be on the basis of preliminary and main examination. The commission has removed the interview from the selection process.
73470 applications for 564 posts of agricultural services
For the 564 posts of Combined State Agricultural Services Examination 2020, 73,470 candidates are also eagerly waiting for the examination. The examination was to be held on May 30 but Corona was eclipsed. For the first time, the commission is going to conduct a separate examination for recruitment to these posts. Earlier these posts were filled through PCS.
Thousands unemployed waiting for two more recruitment dates
Under the Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development, 8194 candidates had applied for 74 posts of Principal Category 2, Deputy Principal and Assistant Director (Screening) Examination 2019 proposed on 23 May. The exam was to be held on May 23 but was postponed. Similarly, the screening test for recruitment to 128 posts of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Government Degree Colleges could not be held on April 17. Thousands of candidates had applied for this.
Avnish Pandey (President Competitive Student Conflict Committee) said, ‘The calendar of the commission should be regularized. It is absolutely necessary to change the pattern of PCS and give two additional opportunities to the competitive students affected by Kovid. Other states and UPSC have given additional opportunity to the competitive students.
