India will never leave Afghanistan. This statement was made by National Security Advisor (NSA) to the Prime Minister of India Ajit Doval at the 5th meeting in the Moscow format on Afghanistan, Ariana News reports today, February 9.

“Afghanistan is going through a difficult phase. India has a historical, especially close relationship with Afghanistan. The well-being and humanitarian needs of the people of Afghanistan are India’s top priorities. This will continue to guide our approach.” Doval said.

He added that India has provided humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan – so far, 40,000 tons of wheat, 60 tons of medicines, 500,000 Covid vaccines, winter clothing and many tons of disaster relief have been sent as humanitarian aid.

“India’s technical team is overseeing our humanitarian aid program. India has provided new scholarships to 2,260 Afghan students, including 300 Afghan girls, in the past two years.” – he said.

Doval also stated that “no country should be allowed to use the territory of Afghanistan for the export of terrorism and radicalization”, and the countries of the region should cooperate in the field of security to solve problems such as Daesh and other terrorist groups.

As reported EADaily , security chiefs from India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were invited by Russia to meet in the Moscow format to discuss various topics related to Afghanistan, including security and the humanitarian crisis. According to Ariana News, there were no representatives of the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA, self-name of the country by the Taliban) at the Moscow summit, although they expressed a desire to participate in the meeting.
