Film producer and alleged activist Ayesha Sultana has landed in trouble for making objectionable statements against Lakshadweep administrator Praful Patel. The Lakshadweep Police on Thursday, June 10, filed a sedition case against Ayesha Sultana for her remarks about ‘bio weapon’ during a TV debate. This complaint against Sultana has been lodged by BJP’s Lakshadweep unit president Abdul Khadar to Kavaratti police. Ayesha local model and actress Sultana, who hails from Chetiyath Island in Lakshadweep, has worked with several Malayalam filmmakers.
Told Praful Patel ‘Bio Weapon’
In the complaint, Khader had alleged that during a recent debate on Malayalam channel ‘Media One TV’ on the ongoing reforms in Lakshadweep, Ayesha had allegedly said that the Center was using Praful Patel as a ‘bioweapon’. The remark was opposed by the BJP’s Lakshadweep unit. A case has been registered against Ayesha Sultana at Kavaratti police station under section 124A of IPC (sedition) on Haji’s complaint. Here, BJP workers have also filed a complaint against Ayesha in Kerala.

The complaint alleged that there was an anti-national act by Sultana, which tarnished the “patriotic image” of the central government. Not only this, he has also demanded action against it. Earlier too, the BJP staged protests in the island demanding action against the filmmaker.
