Ryabkov ruled out grounds for revising the list of unfriendly countries

There are no grounds for revising the list of countries committing unfriendly actions against the Russian Federation, said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. So he answered the question of what the US should do to get Moscow off the list. Now there are two countries on the list: the United States and the Czech Republic.

“Prior to this order (on the creation of a list of unfriendly countries. – “B”) there was simply no legal basis, now it has appeared, and, accordingly, there is no reason to expect that the list will be revised. It is not opportunistic, it is just a tool, “Mr. Ryabkov said in an interview with RIA Novosti. Note that he previously admitted that the list could be expanded.

The US must “stop pursuing unfriendly policies” to be removed from the list, the deputy minister said. In particular, he included in this policy an attack on Russia’s interests, interference in internal affairs, and opposition to integration efforts.

The list of unfriendly countries was compiled on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin after accusations by the Czech Republic of Moscow’s involvement in an explosion at an ammunition depot in Vrbetica in 2014. President of the European Council Charles Michel, in response to the compilation of the list, accused the Russian government of undermining diplomatic relations. The Czech Foreign Ministry urged to abandon the maintenance of the list as contradicting the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
