Haryana Latest News: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was taken to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram due to other problems including blood pressure. On Thursday, he was taken back to Sunaria jail in Rohtak district.
Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was discharged from a private hospital in Gurugram on Thursday. After this he was taken back to Rohtak District Jail. Where he is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two of his followers. Police officials said the Dera Sacha Sauda chief was taken to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for some medical examination on Sunday and was taken back to Sunaria jail in Rohtak district on Thursday.
Sunaria Jail Superintendent Sunil Sangwan told over phone that yes, he (Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh) has been brought back from the hospital. Singh was brought back to a jail located in Haryana’s Rohtak district amid heavy police protection. Earlier, Singh had undergone some tests at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak on Thursday on the complaint of abdominal pain, after which he was taken to a hospital in Gurugram on Sunday.
Got parole last month
Sangwan said the Dera Sacha Sauda chief was admitted to a government hospital in Rohtak in May on complaints of dizziness and abnormal blood pressure. He was discharged after being kept in the hospital overnight. Earlier last month, Singh was granted a day’s parole to visit his ailing mother.
Ram Rahim is serving 20 years imprisonment
In fact, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two female followers in his ‘ashram’. He was convicted in August 2017 by a special CBI court in Panchkula.
