Aruna is the world number four player in the women’s Under 49 category. She has won medals in the Asian Para Taekwondo Championship and World Para Taekwondo Championship in the last four years.
Indian Taekwondo player Aruna Tanwar has got a wild card entry in the Tokyo Paralympics. She will become the first Indian Taekwondo player to participate in it. The father is happy at the daughter’s success, but at the same time his pain has also come to the fore. He hopes that the government will support Aruna and help her fulfill her dreams.
Aruna is currently the world number four player in the women’s Under 49 category. Five-time national champion Aruna has won medals in the last four years at the Asian Para Taekwondo Championship and the World Para Taekwondo Championship. The Tokyo Paralympics will be played from August 24 to September 5.
On the other hand, Aruna Tanwar, describing martial arts as her passion, said- I have been a big fan of martial arts since childhood. Earlier I used to play in the general category, but I was not getting much success there. I came to know about Para Taekwondo and started playing it.
She says- My parents supported me. He was with me in every national tournament. Mother and father both believed in me and whatever I have achieved so far is because of them. I will try to win a medal in Paralympics and make them proud.
