Mukul Roy joined the party at the Trinamool Congress headquarters in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. On this occasion, Mamta said that Mukul is a member of our house only. He has returned to his home. I congratulate him. During this, Mamta Banerjee said that during the elections, Mukul did not betray us. We will not take back those who have betrayed us in the party.

In a press conference held at Trinamool Congress headquarters, Mukul Roy said, “I feel very happy to be back in TMC. Exiting BJP and meeting my people and old people is getting great satisfaction. I could not work in BJP. So he came back to his old home. Roy said that I have left BJP and have come to TMC, in that situation in Bengal, no one will remain in BJP.

Mukul Roy left TMC and went to BJP in 2017
Mukul Roy was one of the first leaders to leave the TMC. In 2017, he left TMC and joined BJP and after that he got a large number of TMC leaders to join BJP. Mukul Roy’s status was as the number 2 leader in the TMC government. He has also been the Railway Minister in the UPA II government. Apart from this, his name has also surfaced in Narada and Saradha scam.
