Kerala: Live-in partner burns woman by pouring kerosene, controversy erupted over posting video on Instagram

A shocking incident of cruelty has come to light in Kerala where a man set her on fire by spraying kerosene on a woman living in a live-in with him. After which the woman died. Let us tell you that there was a dispute between both of them about putting the video on Instagram. The woman used to post videos on Instagram. Due to this a dispute started between the two, after which the matter escalated and the man set the woman on fire. People admitted the woman to the hospital after the fire broke out but she died on Thursday at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.

Police said 28-year-old Athira was set ablaze by her live-in partner Shanavas in the Anchal area of ​​Kollam district. Police said the two had been living together for a long time and they also have a three-month-old baby. Police said the couple had an altercation over posting a video on Instagram on Tuesday and during the brawl, Shanavas poured kerosene on Athira and set her on fire.

Police said that her live-in partner along with Athira also suffered burns. Both were taken to a city hospital from where they were later shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. Police said that Shanavas’s body has suffered burns of about 40 percent, and is currently undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
