Preeti Choksi, wife of fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi, said on Thursday that the businessman’s disappearance and reunion from Antigua, claims “rumoured girlfriend” Babra Jabarika, are all part of a state-sponsored scheme. He said that now the “lies” of PM Gaston Brown are also being exposed.
He said, “This bogey from the Commonwealth of Dominica to Cuba is nothing but the result of a failed Google search, where people have confused the Commonwealth of Dominica with the Dominican Republic, because Cuba is on the side of the Dominican Republic and Both of them, the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Dominican Republic, are on opposite sides.” Referring to Barbara’s claim, Preity said that she never went to Dominica. The Antigua PM had earlier claimed that Mehul Choksi may have gone to Dominica with his girlfriend.
As statements contradict what happened to Mehul Choksi and how he arrived in Dominica, Dominica has declared him a prohibited immigrant.
