Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki’s troubles are not taking the name of lessening. The CBI has registered a fresh FIR against former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in a case of alleged corruption and benefitting his relatives. This case is related to award of contract for construction of boundary wall of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Salt Lake area of Kolkata.
After preliminary probe into the matter, the CBI alleged that the officials of the Public Works Department (PWD) of Arunachal Pradesh awarded the contract to companies controlled by Tuki’s family members without inviting tenders. During that time Tuki was the PWD minister in the state. This caused losses to the state government and ‘wrongly’ benefitted the minister and his relatives.
This work was entrusted to the PWD of Arunachal Pradesh by the then Commissioner of Kendriya Vidyalayas in 2005, while this government agency neither had any resources nor had any office there in the Salt Lake area.
